Box Turtle Day is coming! Granted only to North Carolina. But if you live near the North Carolina Arboretum, sign up for reptile demonstrations, turtle crafts and more. The 4th annual Box Turtle Day happens on June 10, from 10am to 2pm.

Even if you’re nowhere near North Carolina, there’s nothing stopping you from celebrating your favorite reptile. Extra treats for everyone’s box turtles     

What to do with a found box turtle: While we’d prefer leaving boxies alone to go about their business, this family has the next best plan. Give it an outdoor home for the summer, then let it go.

Lots of sea turtle news along with some cute baby pond turtles.

Adopt a sea turtle nest!: GTM Research Reserve lets you adopt a nest and get reports about how your nest is doing. Through July 31 you can adopt a nest for the 2018 season (yes, next year).

Trash cleared from sea turtle nesting site: Volunteers clean up a staggering amount of trash to “give a fin up to our sea turtle friends.”     

Oregon Zoo releases Western pond turtles: Includes video of adorable little turtles seeing their new home for the first time.

Fewer loggerhead turtle nests at Ambersand Beach this year: Is new sand to blame? Or just normal nesting cycles?

South Carolina Aquarium can now help more turtles: The Zucker Family Sea Turtle Recovery Center opened recently. It’s bigger than the old sea turtle hospital. And it’s open to the public!

Another sea turtle listed as endangered, but also some positive conservation news.

4 of Queensland’s turtles now classified as endangered: The government officially lists the hawksbill turtle as endangered just in time for World Turtle Day. 🙁

Family donates island to the Nature Conservancy of Canada: The island is an important home for vulnerable map turtles.
